Homestead continues to evolve. I have been with Homestead since the halcyon days when it was a free start up company. I have hardly ever found anything to complain about. Well done Homestead. I am sure that the rebirth will be great.

I’m glad you are making these updates. Very nice but have you updated the way your employees talk to your clients? Just curious?

All I have to say is PLEASE add TABLES! TABLES! TABLES!
It’s too hard to line stuff up and tab over…
Thanks,

sorry that the changes have took so long…. we have already started to migrate over to another company.
June 19, 2007 at 7:50 pm |
Thank you for the updates. I know all will be helpful and am looking forward to them. Still so much I do not understand especially about all the files I have floating all over the place. I do appreciate the effort you are making to make things better for your subscribers.

Looks great. Long overdue but thats okay, I think I’m going to enjoy the new, “stuff.”
Thanks,

One thing I had asked about that no one has commented on is the addition of PHP capability to a site. I have been informed that Homestead does not have the capability or software to provide an interactive message board.
I would also like to see a function for topic notification on a message board.
I had asked this a year ago and so far nothing. Many of your competitors have this function available with their services. I have been a customer with Homestead back when it was a “FREE” service. I am generally satisfied with services I have received, I remember when there was no spell check for instance. But I think one needs to keep up with the competition.
Overall your services are good, but I have seen over my years with Homestead that many services I had have been removed, yes new things have been added, but do not take away services just to add alternatives.

Your missing the boat not developing for Mac.

Long time user here….. Not surprising that you are updating the service. It is needed to compete. What you have is OK but you can’t remain where you are. Upgrades added recently have been slow and not all that compelling. Nevertheless I have stayed w you since some of what you have is great.
I hope you plan to improve the site statistics function. It is too interactive and only deals with one site at a time. It is slow to use, especially if you have multiple sites.
Some form of online-’batch’ like reports allowing trend analysis across multiple points simultaneously are needed. They should also be defined once and reusable rather than re requesting same info over and over. Printable/sharable results would be nice. …etc

I’m not technically-fit so I love the Homestead user-friendly site. I built my own website without any help from anyone. I’m getting postive feedback from folks who visit and are inspired to purchase my mystery novel. Thanks for making it easy!
June 19, 2007 at 10:43 pm |
When google changed their algorythms, my site fell off the face of the google planet! How about making homestead friendly to google and add more ways to make sites search engine friendly without it costing an arm and a leg!
June 19, 2007 at 10:44 pm |
Here’s another piece of advice…make sites RSS friendly! I’d love to have RSS tools since that’s very popular these days.
June 19, 2007 at 10:50 pm |
Note that in the first 8 messages posted, 1 is mac related even though you don’t really service mac people. I recognize that M. Buskirk is correct and I’m on Windoze. You should be on this mac development thing like white on rice, like a chicken on a June bug, like… well you get it, no?… t

Please we must have the ability for our users to sign in using a login and
password screen. NOT JUST PASSWORD.. IT NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO BE PUT ANY WHERE ON THE PAGE WE WANT IT. PLEASE …. PLEASE..
JOHN
June 20, 2007 at 12:00 am |
WE ALSO DESPARATELY NEED PHP… I WANT TO HAVE DATA DISPLAY ON THE PAGE THAT COMES FROM ANOTHER PAGE WITHOUT GOING TO THAT PAGE.
THANKS
JOHN
I REALLY BELIEVE WITHOUT THIS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE IN THE FUTURE EVENTUALLY EXCEPT FOR THE BEGINNERS AND THEN THEY WILL LEAVE. SO YOU NEED TO RETAIN, RETAIN, RETAIN….
THANKS
JOHN
PS
I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU DO OFFER.. I THINK PHP COULD BE A ADDON THAT YOU CHARGE FOR AND THATS OK..

I am new but I would like to see a click to enlarge photo feature. I have not been able to find one. Thanks, Jill

Iam looking forward to the new changes and updates.
June 20, 2007 at 12:15 am |
I am very pleased with your service.
June 20, 2007 at 12:15 am |
How about changing the chat page so that a name is require, not this Anonymous junk!
On the good side, I am very happy with everything else.
June 20, 2007 at 12:22 am |
One thing I would like to see much improved is your tech support via email. For instance, in Feb. of this year I sent an email requesting tech support help. I received a notification that I would be contacted on the issue I had, but never was, and the email I got from Homestead didn’t save the original email I had sent. Surely, this can’t be a difficult thing to correct.
June 20, 2007 at 1:02 am |
New tools are nice but I would really like a revision of the email service! Any one else out there finding it impossible to use the provided email for business? it is not at all user friendly and really lacks basic functions. It is impossible to find your contacts when you want to email a client. A really frustrating tool considering the ease with which your websites can be created. How about looking at this next?
June 20, 2007 at 1:13 am |
I find Homestead easy to use and up date. I am very happy I went with you to develop my website. Thanks for the support as well.
June 20, 2007 at 1:26 am |
I have been using Homestead since it was free and have never ever been tempted to use another. They keep the sites up where others are unreliable. What few questions I have asked have all been answered in a timely and friendly matter. I applaud the effort to keep improving the service and have no intention of changing.
June 20, 2007 at 1:36 am |
I go back to the early pioneer days when Homestead was free. I have been very happy with how easy it is to build a website and with the changes you have made since those early days, making it even easier to work within my pages. I guess my wish list would include being MAC friendly. That way I could get rid of the clunker of a PC that’s taking up valuable space as I only use it for working in Homestead. Also, I will add that I have had good customer service. My thanks to the Homestead crew.
June 20, 2007 at 2:03 am |
Basically I have been very pleased with Homestead. However, I was recently disappointed to find the limitations when using the email and address book functions on the site. There is no functionality to choose an inidividual email address from your address book, or to choose a list either. The capability is there, but the address book does not populate when you hit the “To” button. This means you have to type in any email address (or list address) or copy it and paste it in rather than just choose it. Also, if you have more than one email address, the address book is only associated with the one where the addresses were entered. This is a major limitation. In addition, by not having the ability to create lists from the address book, lists are comprised of email addresses, with no names to identify who the person is. Very difficult to manage your lists! Please add this functionality!!!
June 20, 2007 at 2:44 am |
I just want to say that you new updated design looks great. Also I am thankful that I found your site several years ago when I did not know anything about building a web site. I needed a place to sell my OXmedia
note cards but I was not able to do so until I found Homestead. Your site builder made it easy for an inexperienced person to build an effective
web site. The online tutorials provided are very helpful.
Keep up the good work!
June 20, 2007 at 2:59 am |
love the blog…can we have this blog feature as part of our homestead acct…would love to add a blog to my site – rather than a link to typepad.com thanks.
June 20, 2007 at 4:01 am |
I would love to see the ability to make drop down menus. Also, being able to size and crop pictures would be nice too.
June 20, 2007 at 4:14 am |
I also vote for the “enlarge photo” mouseover feature. (Even if the “enlarge photo” feature opens in a new window is fine!)
Many of my customers have asked: why can’t I enlarge the artwork photo to get a better look at the details?
June 20, 2007 at 4:19 am |
Please add more typefaces.
And also please add a way to manipulate images – croping images, changing colors, sizes, etc.
These things would be very helpful.
Thanks

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A LOT MORE FONTS.
June 20, 2007 at 4:36 am |
As a photographer I need to have galleries that I can add to the pages to allow for viewing of my images. Right now I have to link to photosite which does not look professional at all. I am hoping this change will take place soon or I will have to go to a company that does have it. Other than that, I really like the simplicity of your sites.
June 20, 2007 at 7:46 am |
I was very happy to find Homestead when I did, it is very simple to use and I appreciate it.
Since building my websites I have found that I need:
1. Mac freindly
2. ALOT more Fonts
3. click to Enlarge photo
4. Better photo protection (the right click script works to protect on some computers but not others)
5. Batch load many photos into several pages such as I do with pbase, instead of having to place them individually- and make it affordable of course. Then I could drop my pbase account and use your site only.
6. Drop down menus
7. Affordable – search engine friendly!!!!
8. Log into several of my sites at once so I can work on all of them at the same time, be able to share what I have created to another site without recreating it each time – share a same image between sites without uploading it to each site. Copy and past between sites.
June 20, 2007 at 10:47 am |
I am always glad to see some new features. I am not actively doing many changes at this point, but will in the future. Your service has alway been top notch in my mind. Thanks for continuing to improve it.

I am in the process of evolving four sites over the past four months. I was amazed at the ease and speed with which I can create a site and have it running. I also think that Homestead is very price competitive. The most serious problem, however, is that my sites never show up on a Google or other search engine, which makes the sites almost useless for business. That needs to be changed for me to stick with Homestead.
June 20, 2007 at 11:56 am |
ALL I ASK AFTER ALL THESE YEARS AND OUR EMAIL REQUESTS –
IS THAT YOU add SUPPORT for PHP !!!!!
and MySQL — SO OUR WEBSITES CAN COMPETE
WITH OTHERS….
YOU HAVE TO ADD THE PHP AS WE LOSE AFFILIATE SALES
DUE TO THIS AND I HAVE TO PASS
ON A LOT OF GREAT WEBSITE
PROGRAMS/SOFTWARE FOR ALL MY WEBSITES
BECAUSE YOU DON’T SUPPORT PHP ******
You keep telling me for 3 years now that the Management & programmers
are looking into this —- Nothing to think about – Just do it Please!!!
Kind Regards,
Bill

I am a relatively new user and still learning ….but one limitation appears to be the SNMs.
a) We need two on every page: The basic one across the top and the sub menus vertical on the left.
b) Or – if only one is possible – then we need for sub menus to open with the ‘mouse-over’ effect

Very few complaints! Lots of positive thoughts about Homestead.
Would like MORE FONTS…… and TEXT WRAP, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE. Thanks, Julia Rush
June 20, 2007 at 3:33 pm |
My feeling is a password/login page is very much needed!!! I would of thought this would be something to have from the start! I agree that updates need to come quicker! There is alot positive with homestead as well!
June 20, 2007 at 10:55 am |
Why does your web builder tool limit the page width to like 50%? It is very frustrating to only get to use a partial page? This has been a gripe of mine for some time now.
June 20, 2007 at 11:12 am |
I’ve been a user for a really long time (since it was free)
Many people are asking for Click to enlarge, and this already exists!!
Here’s how:
1) Import the large size photo to Homestead
2) Import the thumbnail sized photo (BETTER for quick page loading!)
3) double click on the thumbnail photo to the properties
4) LINK your thumbnail to the large photo file you imported in step 1
If you want to see a sample of this in action:
go to my daughter’s web site:
annafleischer.homestead.com
click on shoes
click on any thumbnail and you can see that the enlarged photo is not even the same picture!
June 20, 2007 at 1:07 pm |
I love Homestead because I can create a professional looking website with ease. One thing I would like to see added to Homestead is multiple user accounts so that multiple people can updated selected pages of our website. I have many people that could help me out, but I don’t want to give up my password and allow them to be able to change just any page of my website. This would kind of be like a message board with Moderators.
June 20, 2007 at 3:49 pm |
I searched far and wide till I found your great site. I am now working on a website for a friend but have had to work at the library because my browsers are not compatible and cannot be upgraded any further with my original iMac.
I worked on building the site for less than 40 minutes and then spent another twenty correcting typos and checking out to be sure it was what I wanted. Much of this time was spent trying different addresses till I found the correct one so that the location map was accurate.
In that short time, even without an initial interview, the site made an astoundingly positive impression.
I am expecting delivery of my new Mac Book Pro next week and can hardly wait to get busy. Thank you all for your keen insight into what “easy” and “simple to use” really mean.

I would like to have the site as a blog
June 20, 2007 at 3:56 pm |
Are you adding PHP capability soon?
June 20, 2007 at 7:22 pm |
I would love to see a scrolling text box for info, photos, etc…
Mouseover sounds would also be very cool.
New fonts are a necessity!
Otherwise I am very happy. I have been with Homestead for several years…and have no plans to change.
June 20, 2007 at 11:17 pm |
I’m another long timer like so many others—been with Homestead since their free pages days. I say ditto on more font options, as well as PHP, RSS, MySQL and would like to add self-executing files to that list. One of my sites sells self-executing ebooks. We use self-executing instead of a PDF for lots of reasons. We had to find a service to house the ebook files that also works with PayPal. Would like to eliminate the middle-middle man!
I’d also like to see:
* Multi-Level Menus, CSS Menus, drop-down menus and slide-in menus
* Dynamic content, such as virtual pagination, loading content in the center without reloading the page, etc. — I found a way around it with script (Dynamic Ajax Content from Dynamic Drive) but would be easier if it was an element!
* An email address form element that VALIDATES the email!
* Enlarge photo on mouse over feature –yes we can click to enlarge, but would like an automated option!
* Add more options to your photo album, such as fading transitions and definitely some better style choices! Make it more flash-like. Also add the capability of opening a link to another page if an image in the album is clicked.
* Add the image effect option to the opening of a page, similar to your image effects.
* Add fade-in/fade-out image effects to the image effects element
* Amazon style drop in content box
* Easier way to create a pop-up window and set its dimensions, and whether it is centered on the screen, at the top, etc.
* Better security for protecting images and music files on the site. Currently use a no right click script.
* For your calendar element, allow users to include text data in a date’s box for the users to use it as an events calendar.

I’ve been with you since it was free, and have, over the years, contacted your customer support people several times on one of my wish list issues, that is:
1- Please let me use my Mac to log and edit my website.
Adding to it the following:
2- The online e-mai interface is as spartan and bare as it is possible to stand. Its a paradox that any free online e-mail account has more features than ours, specially since you go all the way to provide SiteBuilder with such user friendliness. How about better address books, html toolbars, etc.
3- More fonts. Can’t look too profesional if everything is in arial, times or one of the few supported.
4- How about better and customizable interactive submision forms, or interactive polls, etc. We have the same bunch since ever.
5- How about more control or customization on mailing lists (lets say not the three posible icons for joining and unsuscribing) and way to eliminate bounced e-mails without manually looking in the lists for them.
6- With growing on graphics, the disk space is barely capable for a website like ours. A point where you are severely behind the competions, as it is with available e-mail domain related accounts.
7- Is there a way to upload a database with search functions? If it is I don’t know how.
8- A text importing tool anybody? I mean a way to import text documents and create text blocks into SiteBuilder without copying and pasting from Word or any text processor.
If I can think of a few more, I’ll be back.
Thanks for listening (should I say reading?) if you do.
June 21, 2007 at 2:42 pm |
I appreciate that user support is MUCH BETTER than it used to be a few years back.
The email… I just quit using.
June 22, 2007 at 9:18 am |
I am a language software author and HOMESTEAD have helped me build my website; It’s marvelous, I mean it!
I need support to lock up dowloading my e-books, but after customer has paid, how does it work?
I joined to “sharelink”, yet I do not now when and how will I get business links benefits?
June 22, 2007 at 1:02 pm |
Hi there- I really wish there were more pre-designed templates for the scrapbooking industry- or scrapbooking elements that we can add ourselves. I have always wished for this. I would also like to see more photo options, like gallery style (the easier the better). I’ve also had the need for charts/tables- so that I can enter my services and pricing in different columns. I have tried doing this with tabbing, etc. but the type never comes out lined up.
Thank you,
Angela
June 23, 2007 at 8:32 pm |
Plese add more fonts. I would like a lot more variety. All I can say is it’s a great site except it needs more fonts! The fonts that you have are sooo boring. Also when I go to upload a picture, the box that pops up for me to fine my picture or file is so small I have to really scroll and scroll very slowly to not pass by my folder that has the image in it that I need to use. So a larger box there would be GREAT!

Hi,
Homestead made it so easy for me to design websites. I am happy with the services that you provide and looking forward for the new updates.
Thanks a million times.

Love the ease of setting a web site up but I have wanted to use some of the new themes and will loose all my work if I go to them. We need access to what is already there but not loose our entire pages.
June 26, 2007 at 12:46 pm |
I would love to see a feature that allows you to publish a page on a certain date in the future, such as some site builders have. It would be a start date and perhaps an end date (ddmmyy:hhmmss) to allow me to build my weekly site in advance and start it on a certain day. This would be useful when I am traveling and away on the date that the new page needs to appear.
June 26, 2007 at 1:32 pm |
Yes! More fonts!
How about a Rounded Rectangle Tool – Like in Photoshop?
Username and Password access would be huge!
Keep up the good work!
June 26, 2007 at 3:08 pm |
For the most part, I’ve been very happy with Hometead over the last 4 years.. However, I think there are a few important updates needed that other company’s offer, and you don’t.. In my opinion, these really are important features that you’ll end up loosing quite a few customers over eventual. That includes me because some of these suggestions are things every website needs to succeed these days.
1. Every other website hosting program I’ve checked on lately offers about 300GB of disk space.. We only get 100MB of disk space (with the gold).. 1000 MB equals 1 GB… That means we’re getting a tiny little portion of what other website hosting programs offer.
I would like to see Homestead upgrade all of our websites with more disk space for free…Even if you only give us another 50MB to use.. that would at least be a start in the right direction.
2. Adding new domains costs $12 every 6 months through Homestead. That’s $24 a year!! You can purchase domains from sites all over the net for as little as .99 a year… The average cost is around $8.. Why is Homestead so high? I’d like to see them become competitive with the numourous other website hosts and domain hosts out there when it comes to domain cost.
3. Customer service.. OYVIE…. Some of your customer service reps are excellent, but the majority seem to scan emails, pick out some keyword and send a standarized reply that usually has nothing to do with the help needed… Please train your customer service people to take the time to actually read emails and make sure they’re answering the question asked by the customer.. I rarely ever use your customer service unless it’s something really important.. The last reply I got back was very “snippy” and didn’t answer my question at all..
4. Shipping calculators!!! Much needed tool… Is there not some way you can add the ability to have actual shipping figured for each purchase? I called your customer service about this once and was told the best way to handle this is to add paypal buttons for each individual shipping zone in the United States.. HELLO…. that would be a lot of paypal buttons on each item I have for sale!! We need a better solution than just adding a percentage of the total purchase or a fixed shipping amount..We need to be able to charge customers actual shipping costs.
5. Maybe this problem is just my computer, but if not, I’d like to see something done about it.. You’ve added the function to view our images by thumbnails or by text.. This is great for cleaning out old images that are no longer used on the website.. It’s a great way to retrieve more disk space. The problem is, you can’t delete more than one thumbnail at a time and once you delete one, the system brings you back to the beginning of your image file so you have to start over going through the thumbnails to find one that needs to be deleted. It’s a very long process and I have literally spent entire days going through the image file deleting pictures… It’d be nice if we could select a number of thumbnails at once to delete all together, or if the system would bring you back to the very same spot you left off after deleting a thumbnail..
I love the way I can make my website look like I want it to with Homestead. It’s very simple to use and the possibilities are endless. But it really has become a huge issue for me, and I’m sure for others with large websites, that we are given such a small amount of disk space and that domains are overpriced. Out of all my suggestions, those are the two things that I feel are the most important to upgrade immediately.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to voice our concerns and ideas.
Karen

Regarding click to enlarge pictures.
All my pictures with in my sites display with a mouse hover on the thumbnails, and the large version of the photo appears on the same page. It takes a little code to accomplish this but simple enough to make it happen.
If interested, go to my website http://rogerphilpot.com to see how the pics are displayed. You can also contact me at the web site if interested in the code.

After being a Homestead customer for five years I find that I can no longer continue with your service. Not that I want to leave, but, I have to. I finally got to the point where I’ve had it with Bill Gates and Windows OS. On a trial basis I switched to MacIntosh and after spending the past month getting use to it I am convinced the Apple OS program is superior to Windows. With the Mac OS I can boot up in 20 seconds. I can get out of and go to any other program in the twinkling of an eye. Internet travel is lightening fast. No pop-up, no viruses, no problems, except one. That one problem is you don’t support Mac computers. So, after 27 years of Bill Gates and five with Homestead, I am leaving you both behind. I don’t regret the decision to dump Gates, but, I am sorry to have to leave Homestead. BTW, I agree with everything Karen wrote above.

About 18 months ago you introduced an upgrade that is driving me nuts.
This upgrade relates to “cut and paste”.
In order to set the order of appearance of elements on a page – as in setting a form or in setting a long list of thumbnails it is necessary to cut and paste each element starting at the top and working down to the last.
The upgrade in question offsets the element by 20 pixels down and 20 pixels to the right.
I asked your help desk why this was done and was told it was to help people that paste multiple images on top of each other.
Now this makes very little sense to me but I guess it must help somebody.
The inconvenience created by this upgrade however is a major annoyance as it has created the need to re position every element in a list when cutting and pasting. My lists are updated frequently so this is an issue.
If the ists are not set to open in order then my site visitors are destined to sit looking at an empty page until the whole page is populated.
Please can you do something about this and save me and I’m sure many others loads of wasted clicking.
While I am on my soap box – what about adding a feature that allows the default colour on a page to be set to a colour other than black.
I often build websites using other text colours throughout the page – this would be helpful.
Last point (for the moment)
I would like to re enforce the comments made by;
Karen Says: June 26th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
regarding the help desk tickets. It seems to me that your company policy is to reply asking for further information using a standard letter – in the hope that the problem will just go away.
This is either the case or as Karen states, the email requests are not being read properly. I am often enraged by the inane response I get offering me the most basic solutions to a problem. Having built dozens of websites on homestead over the past six years I do not ask for help unless it is necessary.
Still love you however
XXXXXXX

Been in the Homestead family way back when it was free…oh those heady times! Got over the shock of having to pay..oh my.
When entering Site Builder a Select a Site window opens. Clicking the arrow opens a second window with a list of my sites.
I’d appreciate the full list of my site to appear without the time consuming need to scroll.
In contrast when one enters the Homestead Site & clicks the arrow a second window opens displaying all the sites available without the need to scroll.
Would you please make that feature available on the Site Builder Select a Site.
I hope that once you have solicited our comments that Homestead acts quickly to make the changes.

I just want to say THANK YOU;)
There are alot of people like myself, who need to keep things simple when it comes to making your own web site. I did mine without help, thanks to you, and I get great comments about my web site. I just simply love it;)
June 29, 2007 at 12:54 pm |
I joined Homestead in January and since then the service seems to have slipped (I agree with the complaints about Help) and the prices have become even less competitive – not just the price of domain names, but SO much money for SO little space! Also, the $5/month option is now gone. And when people click through to you using your Affiliate AGreement, they’re ripped off. A friend told me it took almost 45 minutes on the phone with your sales people to realize the come-on “Free trial” she’d clicked on wasn’t in fact available through the AFfiliate program. I’m so glad I found out before anyone else got ripped off and annoyed.

I’ve been with Homestead for seven years and I love what you doing. The upgrades are great, but I’ve noticed you have taken so long to update the fonts. Also what should have been updated a long time ago is being able to supply drop down menus for items that come in different sizes or fragrances. I had to go to Paypal to do that and going back and forth from their site to yours is so time consuming. If you don’t keep moving on the Paypal site, your time expires. Other than that, I am very satisfied with Homestead.

My email account with Homestead has bombed out. The helpdesk blames my service provider but I have tried login on other computers that are hooked up to different service providers – same story! Three weeks ago I could access my email on my Nokia phone – now nothing!!! What’s happening?

Picture frames that are fun and exciting, besides the basic bar frame.
I’m begging!

I’ve been with Homestead since it was a “free” site. Love the ease of building my own site. I’ve used my site mostly as an advertising tool but not for direct sales. I’ve decided to try sales through the site and was disappointed to find that the ease I so enjoyed in building the site, did not apply to adding shipping charges. Adding a flat shipping fee to every item is simply not practical. Customers are very aware of shipping charges and prefer exact shipping. If I’m having a problem with this, as small a business as I am, I can only imagine the complications for a larger business using Homestead.

I love the new look of homestead! I really do hate brown and going to your site for information was really a drag. Now with my favorite color BLUE is looks amazing. Makes you feel…well happy! Good job.

Yes, changes have all been good. I agree with Roz–tables, tables, tables. I too have difficulty putting things in line

I’ve suggested this in the HS forum, but I will also suggest it here. I would like HS to make it possible for me to create a “bread crumb” navigation line – just like the one on the HS forum. It makes it easier for visitors to find their way back to where they started…

I am a happy Homestead customer and have created a number of Homestead hosted sites. My wish list is:
Being able to plot grouped objects to a precise pixel locus
Being able to ungroup objects in “layers” as opposed to enmass
Ability to more precisely size fonts
Text wrap
Being able to share work between my sites
Faster load times
Ability to customize look of music player and guest book
That would do it.

I have a site with over 800 files and over 175 pages. When I delete a page, the icons or pictures I used for that page are still in the file folders. Could the software somehow indicate that that particular information is no longer being used? I would like to delete all of those files without having to look at each one individually and/or trying to remember where or if I am still using that picture or item.
Also, I would like to see pictures that can be turned any direction, not just straight up and down or 180 degrees. For example, to create a collage. I know I can create a collage in another program it and import it, but that is a lot of extra work. Thanks. Jo Boyd, jopatvero@comcast.net
I love Homestead and have been using it for almost five years.
One more thing…more of a variety of graphics/pictures and fonts please.

It would be nice if you would set up an element allowing us to put up the Password Login on the Index page and not as a PopUp (which cannot also be edited) – as it is now when entering a protected page. This is long overdue!

I would like to see homestead do the following:
1. Become friendly to the MAC with sitebuilder
2. Have a blogging feature
3. Some system to arrange my files into folders-When I have a large
site it is so hard to find a page quickly!!!!
As a paid user for years #3 is the most needed feature!!!

Thanks for starting this blog about the Homestead updates. I love stopping by occasionally to read a post or two.
One thing that I’ve noticed is that many of the participants are making suggestions for improving an already outstanding service.
I’ve been designing with the SiteBuilder for a while now and I can honestly say I am amazed at how user friendly the program is.
Thanks for starting this blog and continuing to improve a wonderful service.

My firm is a long time Homestead user and has recommended Homestead to many others. But Homestead is starting to feel limited in its capacity and I would have expected more by now in the following areas:
1. Multi-Level Menus, drop-down menus and slide-in menus
2. Dynamic content, such as virtual pagination
3. Enlarge photo on mouse over feature.
4. Add the image effect option to the opening of a page, similar to your image effects.
5. AND MOST IMPORTANT: Add fade-in/fade-out image effects to the image effects element
When will Homestead add fade-in/fade out image effects?

My site is used in the merchandising business where I have service people working in different regions of the country. They use the site to communicate field issues using a ’submittable’ form for comments but would love to have the capability for attaching photos with the comments.
I have sent several messages inquiring about this option but have not heard back. I even sent an email to the CEO two weeks ago and have not gotten a response. I am not a HTML or Java programmer so I need to have it as an easy ‘element’ to apply to the submittable page. Is this possible?
