I would really like to see Homestead update the PayPal element so that I can include weight as part of the product information. I'm unfortunately going to have to use HTML instead of the element because the shipping is more accurate weight based.

Addie,
You can use the paypal shipping info like Angel wrote about, but another option that has worked great for me is AuctionInc. It's an online shopping cart that works with paypal and figures the actual shipping/handling for each item sold. I use to loose money on the shipping for pretty much every sale I made because the way paypal's shipping program is set up, your either charging a flat rate no matter where they live in the country or a percentage, which still doesn't give you an accurate shipping rate. I've been using AuctionInc for at least 7 months and it's saved me a bundle in shipping. It also gives you the option of adding fee's to the shipping that you'll incur from paypal as well as any type of handling fee you want to add. And it doesn't cost a fortune like all other shopping carts I checked on. It's only $19.99 every 3 months. You can also add international shipping for $4.95 a month. If your interested, visit http://www.auctioninc.com/info/index for more info or visit my site (here's a page with lots of shopping cart links) http://www.karenskottage.org/cattents5.html as an example of how it works.. You can also make your cart look like you want it to look and offer shipping through all the major shippers..
I've been nothing but pleased with it..
Just thought I'd pass this info along in case you were interested in added a shopping cart... I found this by accident and boy am I glad I did!
Have a great day,
Karen

I believe you can actually set a shipping rate table (and sales tax) by logging in to your PayPal account. You can mention this fee on your site and then when the customer adds the product to their cart, they'll just see the product purchase price. When they go through the checkout process, the shipping and tax will be added in if you have the rates set up through PayPal.

I'm pretty sure that's how it works...

What are you offering for options on setting up the shipping and handling costs for the Paypal account? On my catalog page I would like to be able to have customers select the quantity first, then the shipping preference, and finally have the Add to Cart button last!

The way I have had to set it up now, leaves me at times with people clicking on the Add to Cart button first, because it appears first on the page, with no money sent for shipping and handling.

What are your options for the site builder now for shipping and handling?
