New keyboard shortcuts in SiteBuilder!
Most of you know we’ve recently added some new features to our site and in our tools. One of the features I’d like to highlight here is the ability to add some useful symbols to your text using the following keyboard shortcuts in SiteBuilder (sorry, this isn’t available in SiteBuilder Lite):
Ctrl + Alt + C = the copyright symbol ©
Ctrl + Alt + T = the trademark symbol ™
Ctrl + Alt + R = the registered symbol ®
Here are those symbols shown in SiteBuilder:
One of the reasons we put in these shortcuts is because Homestead member Karina posted a comment on the blog asking for an easier way to enter these symbols (special thanks to Carla for posting her temporary workaround). We regularly share feature requests we get from your suggestions with our Development team, and one of the developers thought he’d like to take this one on. And now you have it!
So please enjoy, Karina and Carla, and anybody else who has a need for these symbols. And please, keep letting us know what features you’d like to see, and we’ll continue our efforts to try and add them to our products.

This is just to Thank You Very Much for the copyright symbol.
I use is extensively and just type a c or cp assuming that most
people will know what it means.
I am very appreciative of this improvement.
Another blog showed how to line up the elements on the page which has been very helpful, and I learned I could use the control button to move groups of elements around on the page, although I have been using the select all to move the whole page up and down.
Happy New Year to All Homesteaders!

These comments are very helpful and you all have an excellent program for us. Can you make use of the “brush” to copy formatting from existing text? Similar to MS Word. Thanks, Frank

WOW ! A big thank you from me !!! As I run fan sites for singers I am always building pages to hold photos sent to me by other fans - to be able to add the copyright symbol so nice and easily will be a big relief for me. Really great that Homestead has always listened to our requests - I have been a dedicated user since the old free days !

In both of my resource books I use the symbol of a large dot between certain numbers and letters. This is my personal identify to the product. How can I get to that symbol so that the web page title matches the books?
Also–
This is my first time and it’s taking me awhile to get my own graphics into the site. Can you replace…”this page does not exist or the site has been moved” with “Page under construction”?
Otherwise, Homestead has been helpful. The blog comments are positive and I’m glad to be on board.

Hi Marilyn,
You can copy and paste any character from the Windows Character Map into SiteBuilder. In Windows, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map. There, you can Select and Copy any symbol you see. Then you you can go to SiteBuilder and Paste (Ctrl + V) wherever you need to.
Also, to customize the Page Not Found error, in SiteBuilder, go to File -> Customize Site Error 404 Page.
Hope that helps!
-Sam
